Sample Yoga Ideas Connected to Art Images
Tree Pose

Show children a photograph or painting of a tree, such as Ansel Adams' Oak Tree Sunrise.
Ask children to pretend they are a tree, with feet rooted in the ground.
Ask them to lift one leg and place it on the other leg and put their arms out like branches.
It's okay if they wobble, as trees sway in the breeze. Try to stay rooted and grounded, while reaching up toward the sun.

Ask children if they've ever seen a dog stretch with his paws extended and his tail in the air. This is called "downward facing dog" in yoga.
Ask children to pretend they are a dog and have just woken up from a long nap.
Ask your little doggies to put their paws on the ground and stretch their tails in the air. Barking is optional. :)
